Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest, listed in Archives 1717, item I14, as 'Another piece of Pallavisini's', qualified in Dowding (main hand) as 'à 5 Antw. 1613. Alto. Basso. Quinto. the other parts wanting'. Oblong format, 217 x 165 mm. Early C17th wrappers of grey paper; each partbook is now sewn into a folder of modern card and mounted impermanently on cords within an early C20th folder of stiff card and vellum. On the original upper wrapper of each partbook, an unidentified English hand, mid C17th, has added the voice-name, followed by 'Pallavicino. 5.
